It really is the small things...

Sometimes it’s the small things… sometimes it’s bigger things! There isn’t a person following along that doesn’t know how important family is to me. And boy oh boy this journey would have looked mighty different without them. Friday was my second last chemo. Yes that’s right just one more to go in…

12 days -1 hour - And - 53 mins… Not that I am counting…!!!!

Last night with a pre-event nap, half a cup of coffee, supper thanks to mom, grandma and papa babysitting, we mustered the energy to head to cousin Kyle and Erin’s buck and doe. As much as I hate having pictures taken on a good day it made me realize how important it is for others to capture parts of this journey. It is and always will be part of my story, but doesn’t have to define me.

However last night won’t be remembered as the buck and doe that Katie had cancer… it was the night we won a hair basket (right!!!!) but with an Izzy size curling iron…. She’s going to be so excited…

And the night the Maple Leafs won moving onto the next round for the first time since 2004!!!Best of all in his excitement Ian Giddy wasn’t paying attention as I called no goal… now that was a picture for the family album!!!!

Humour, effort, and a hell of a lot of help that what this picture really says.

From a medical perspective this round was quite solid. The oncologist is happy and actually reduced the dose a little as he doesn’t want my side effects to be permanent. Currently I have some numb fingers and toes… it makes for really bad typos. Pain comes and goes, and the shot I am given to boost white blood cells makes my body hurt to the touch for a day or so. It weird we can now identify some of these pieces where with the first treatment is was such a hot mess we had no idea what did what!

More posts to come… but for now a coffee! Because the greatest gift with chemo round two was being able to drink it again.
